How to Make a Lasting Impact Through Planned Gifts
Faith United Methodist Church, Champaign, Illinois
Endowment Fund
A planned gift to the Faith United Methodist Church Endowment Fund will provide lasting impact to help the Church further its mission:
Faith is a beacon of light, a center of faith and a refuge of hope,
sharing Christ's love abundantly with ALL people!
Just as our annual gifts do currently, our planned gifts to the Church’s endowment fund will support Faith’s outreach mission, program ministries, care for the building upkeep and operation, and fund special initiatives far into the future.
There are many ways in which you can make a lasting impact through your estate gifts:
Bequest. A bequest in your will might designate the Faith United Methodist Church Endowment Fund to receive a specific amount of money, real estate, a percentage of your estate, and/or the residue of the estate after other specific bequests have been distributed.
Beneficiary Designation. You can name the Church’s Endowment Fund as the beneficiary of a revocable or irrevocable trust, charitable remainder trust, charitable lead trust, life insurance policy, annuity or individual retirement plan.
Transfer on Death (TOD) Arrangement. Faith UMC Endowment Fund can also be listed as a beneficiary of a brokerage account enabling you to pass securities directly to the endowment fund upon your death, bypassing probate.
Payable on Death (POD) Arrangement. A similar option is available if you’d like to pass the remains of a bank account on to the church endowment and not go through probate.
There are additional avenues to support Faith’s mission through planned gifts that are completed prior to your death. Enjoy the benefit of seeing your generosity having lasting impact now!
Cash. Cash gifts are acceptable in any form, including by check, money order, credit card, or ACH.
Marketable Securities. Marketable securities designated for the endowment fund may be transferred electronically to an account maintained at one of the church’s brokerage firms or delivered physically with the transferor's endorsement or signed stock power (with appropriate signature guarantees) attached. All marketable securities will be sold promptly upon receipt.
Life Insurance Policy. Ownership of a paid-up life insurance policies can be transferred to the church. When the church redeems the policy, the funds become available to the church and can be added to the endowment fund now.

Donor Advised Fund (DAF). Contributions to the endowment fund may come to the church through grants from your DAF.
Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Distributions from an IRA can be given in the current year to the endowment fund which will benefit Faith’s mission now and in the future.
The Church urges all prospective planned gift donors to seek the assistance of personal legal and financial advisors in matters relating to their gifts, including the resulting tax and estate planning consequences.
